Wizards of the Coast has announced four new Challenger decks for 2020. Each of the pre-assembled decks comes with 75 cards, consisting of a 60-card deck and a 15-card sideboard; all of the cards used are Standard-legal and have been previously printed. The decks will be available in English worldwide, while players in Japan may also purchase Japanese versions.

The four new decks are:

  • Allied Fires: this three-color deck (blue, red and white) eschews creatures in favor of planeswalkers, with only three of the former and thirteen of the latter. This deck specializes both in creating lots of tokens and cycling quickly through your library. Specialty lands abound here, as well, with lots of multicolored lands and abilities that reward the heavy focus on planeswalkers.
  • Final Adventure: this black/green deck is almost all creatures, with plenty of them wielding either Lifelink or Deathtouch. Most of the creatures in this deck come from the Throne of Eldraine set, and as such, Adventures are a prominent feature here. Leading the charge is the mythic Vraska, Golgari Queen, who comes with a swift and brutal win condition.
  • Cavalcade Charge: this mono-red deck is built around a tried-and-true formula: hit your opponent fast, and hit them hard. This deck is designed to quickly deal lots of damage to your opponent, not just with +1/+1 counters and other temporary damage buffs, but with effects that do additional damage outside of regular combat.
  • Flash of Ferocity: with this blue/green deck, all the action happens during your opponent's turn instead of your own. This deck consists entirely of creatures, instants and lands, and nearly every single creature has Flash. You can flash in creatures with Flying or Reach, counter spells, or even reward yourself for playing cards during your opponent's turn.

Specific card lists and other information can be found on the Magic website. All four decks will be available for purchase in local game stores starting on April 3.
