Seven new Magic: The Gathering sets are on the calendar for release in 2021 according to new information from Wizards of the Coast.
The year's release schedule begins with Kaldheim, a nordic-inspired set, in quarter one, followed by Time Spiral Remastered and Strixhaven: School of Mages to finish out the first half of the year. The latter half continues with Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms (which replaces 2021's core set release) in the third quarter. After that, it's the release of Modern Horizons 2 and a pair of Innistrad sets -- Innistrad: Werewolves and Innistrad: Vampires -- before the year is out.
Kaldheim, Strixhaven, Forgotten Realms, and the Innistrad releases will all be Standard legal. Time Spiral Remastered and Modern Horizons 2 will not be. While WotC isn't providing much in the way of details as of yet for any of the sets beyond the bare-bone basics, the company did divulge that Time Spiral Remastered will herald back the return of "old frame" Magic cards.
As for Modern Horizons 2, the company says that the set will include all five of the enemy-colored fetch lands. They will be available in the set's draft boosters and will be slotted in as rares. Modern Horizons 2 will be a print-to-demand set.
