Respected Magic: The Gathering artist Rebecca Guay is unveiling not just plans, but also sketches for her upcoming collaborations with fellow game artists Seb McKinnon and Alayna Danner.
Both collaborations are for limited-run playmats with one each being co-illustrated by both Guay (Serra Angel, Bitterblossom) and McKinnon (Assassin's Trophy, Deliver Unto Evil), as well as Guay and Danner (Jeweled Lotus, Alpine Moon).
These new MTG-related playmats are unique to Guay's Kickstarter in support of her next gallery show and book, The Present. Both will be unlocked as rewards once the campaign reaches $160K.
Says Guay on this new collaboration with McKinnon, "I’m leaping from one of his paintings to do a new version of Kaysa: fully painted watercolor image that will be made into a never before (or again) released image for choice as a playmat."

As for the collaboration with Danner, "I’ll be teaming up with one of my favorite young artists for MTG and we’ve worked back and forth to develop this idea together with two of our most iconic characters for MTG and I’ll make a full watercolor painting of this Serra/jeweled Lotus painting," she says.

With four days to go in the campaign, it currently (at time of this article's publication) sitting at $118,914 with 394 backers.
Guay stresses that the Kickstarter campaign will be the only way for Magic players to get either of the playmats.
"These playmats will never ever ever be available again."
These two new playmats will are in addition to the previously-announced Guay/McKinnon playmat currently that was already available through the Kickstarter (seen below).
