The Khans of Tarkir fetch lands are no longer the only cards banned in Magic: The Gathering's new Pioneer format as Wizards of the Coast bans three additional cards in the format.

Effective Nov. 5 on Magic Online and Nov. 8 in paper, the cards Felidar Guardian, Leyline of Abundance, and Oath of Nissa are now banned in Pioneer.

Felidar Guardian has been banned from the format due to its use in Copy Cat decks, which utilize the amazing, game-breaking synergy between the Guardian and the planeswalker card Saheeli Rei.  The latter two cards, Leyline of Abundance and Oath of Nissa, are being removed from Pioneer play due to their use within Green Devotion Ramp decks.

"These two decks have earned the most 5-0 league finishes on Magic Online and have problematically high win rates against the field," writes WotC's Ian Duke.  "Both decks feature play patterns that would reduce metagame diversity over time."

The next scheduled banlist announcement for Pioneer is Nov. 11.

Magic: The Gathering's full banned and restricted lists can be found on the Magic: The Gathering website.
