Let’s just admit it: Shopping for the perfect Christmas/Chanukah/Festivus/whatever gift can be a downright pain in the tuchus.  That can be doubly-true if the person for whom you’re shopping is a big fan of something like, oh, the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game.

Well, to make things a bit easier this year, Magic Untapped has come up with a list of suggestions for Magic players of all shapes and sizes.

And, if none of these call out as the perfect gift for the Magic player in your life, we at Magic Untapped hope our list (at the very least) can inspire an idea for a the perfect gift – whether that be for a friend, loved one, or yourself!

For the player just starting out:

Magic: The Gathering Arena Starter Kit ($9) – A great introductory product for new players or those looking to get into the game, this kit includes two ready-to-play decks, a learn as you play guide, and a code for the Magic: The Gathering – Arena computer game that unlocks the decks for play online.

Monster Rocks 2.0 Token Dice for Magic The Gathering ($12) - During a game of Magic, sometimes you need more than just cards to represent the creatures you have in play.  That's where these Monster Rocks token dice come in.  Monster Rocks are like normal 6-sided dice, but each side of the dice represents a different commonly used token in MTG.  A logoed storage bag is included.

Teferi Accessory Bundle ($39) - A great value considering all that is included, Magic: The Gathering's official Teferi Accessory Bundle includes a 700-card storage box and matching playmat, deck box, and card sleeves all featuring the artistic likeness of the popular and powerful planeswalker character, Teferi.  It all looks so good, even experienced MTG players might want this one!

For the casual player:

BCW Deck Vault LX 200 Deck Box ($27) - Perfect for Commander players, this card box made with a durable faux leather outer shell and microfiber faux-suede interior. It can carry two double-sleeved, 100-card decks in addition to all the dice, tokens, and bits you might need.

For the hardcore player:

The Art of Magic: The Gathering: Concepts & Legends ($40) - This magnificent hardcover art books by author James Wyatt featuring the incredible images and lore of Magic: The Gathering.  Dive deep into the MTG archives with an inside look at the origins of the characters, planes, creatures and lore of the world’s most popular trading card game.  Included along with the book are four double-sided collectible art prints.

CardKingPro Game Card Storage Box ($92) - A metal case with square reinforced corners, this is basically a tank of a briefcase to keep your Magic collection safe and secure.  The lid is completely removable and fastens with two strong clip to keep it securely closed when not in use. It also comes with 8pcs dividers and a small dice bag so you can store all your accessories as well.  Each of its five rows can hold up to four UltraPro Deck Boxes or 500 unsleeved cards (2,500 total capacity), or around 200 double-sleeved cards (1,000 total capacity).

For the Magic player who already has everything they need:

Magic: The Gathering Planeswalker Crew Socks ($13) - Who doesn't like socks (especially cook geeky socks)?  These officially licensed Magic: The Gathering socks feature a custom design of the Planeswalker symbol created using a 200 needle weave construction which produces a higher quality image and long-lasting color. Now you can travel between Planes in comfort with the arch compression and heel support!

Shanion Super Soft Velvet Decorative Blanket ($29) - Measuring 40"x50", this throw blanket features 100% anti-pilling flannel, which can be used for a long time and provides better fade resistance than other similar products such as cotton blankets.  If a larger blanket is desired, they also have a 60"x80" version for $47.

Magic: The Gathering Planeswalker Ugly Sweater Style Sweatshirt ($43) - Machine washable, this officially Licensed Magic: The Gathering sweatshirt can get any MTG player into the holiday spirit.  It features a design inspired by ugly Christmas sweaters on the front and has a classic fit with a twill-taped neck.

For those on a budget:

BCW Deck Guard sleeves ($4)– Considered a necessity amongst Magic players, no deck is really complete unless it’s been sleeved.  There are many brands and types of sleeves to choose from with some featuring gloss finishes and fancy designs, while others are matte and feature solid colors.  For the price, we suggest BCW’s Deck Guard series, which cost only $4 (plus shipping) for a pack of 80 sleeves.

Power/Toughness dice ($7) – This set of twelve dice include six +X/+X and six –X/-X.  These sets of d6 dice count up (or down) from +1/+1 and -1/-1 through +6/+6 and -6/-6.  They are very handy and perfect for use in both casual and competitive venues.  It's a wallet-friendly choice that can be invaluable during MTG games.

Sentinol Small Trading Card Binder ($12) - This four pocket binder for trading cards contains 20 double-sided durable pages that hold as many as 160 fit sleeved or unsleeved cards.  It comes in three different colors (purple, black, and yellow) and is a great, convenient way for Magic players to exhibit the cards they have for trade.

And while shopping online can be convenient, don’t forget to give your local game store a call to see if they carry any of the above items.  They’ll appreciate your patronage!
