Many announcements were made by Wizards of the Coast during MagicCon Chicago 2024.
Some were for upcoming Magic: The Gathering IP releases. Others for the game's Universes Beyond sub-brand. And others, still, beyond that.
Let's review.
"Tarkir is now bigger and bolder than ever, filled with cinematic action, dynamic clan gameplay, and powerful new dragons that add lasting firepower to your collection," says WotC.
Releasing April 11 is Tarkir Dragonstorm. The set, which brings the collectible card game back to the fan-favorite plane of Tarkir, features a focus on three-color gameplay and new takes on the plane's five clans as powerful dragonstorms spiral the plane into chaos and wild dragons darken the skies.
According to Wizards, Tarkir's five clans fight alongside their new Spirit Dragons for supremacy over the land. The set will feature multiple card variants as well as highly-collectible serialized cards.
In addition to clan-specific prerelease packs (prerelease is scheduled for April 4), Tarkir Dragonstorm will be available in Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, a Bundle, and five Commander decks -- one for each clan.

Carrying a June 13 release date, Magic: The Gathering - Final Fantasy brings the storied Square-Enix JRPG to the MTG CCG.
Since debuting in 1987 on the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Final Fantasy series has since sold more than 195,000,000 copies worldwide.
In the set, which features cards from the series' sixteen core numbered video games, brings to Magic powerful spells, classic summons, and fan-favorite locations. The set's prerelease is scheduled to begin June 6 and will soonafter be available in Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, and four Commander decks.

Coming to Magic: The Gathering August 1, this scifi-meets-fantasy set features the villainous planeswalker Tezzeret on the outer reaches of the multiverse where players will be able to explore distant planets, wield dazzling magic, and wage war with alien factions.
Edge of Eternities will be available in Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, a Bundle, and a pair of Commander decks.
The set's prerelease is scheduled to being July 25.

Adding to Magic: The Gathering's Universes Beyond offerings will be a set based around the Nickelodeon animated television show, Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is scheduled to be released on Nov. 21.
Along with Magic: The Gathering - Final Fantasy and Magic: The Gathering - Marvel's Spider-Man, which is scheduled to release Summer of 2025, Magic: The Gathering will have three full-set Universes Beyond releases in 2025. And that's in addition to any UB secret lairs or other supplemental releases also coming out in the year.
