Magic Untapped cracks open a booster box of Magic: The Gathering's latest set, Core Set 2021.
The latest Magic: The Gathering core set, Core Set 2021 (a.k.a Magic 2021) just released and it's full of amazing reprints and some rather nifty original cards, along with normal, alternate "showcase", expanded art, and borderless variants to boot.
A 274-card set (plus another 123 for variants and whanot), Fifth Dawn boasts a variety of notable cards. New cards such as Teferi, Master of Time, Terror of the Peaks, and Fiery Emancipation top the list, as do some rather iconic reprints like as Grim Tutor, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, and Azusa, Lost but Seeking. Even on the lower end, there are some great singles such as Solemn Simulacrum, Scavenging Ooze, Fabled Passage, and Massacre Wurm. And that's not to mention those various variants such as the showcase version of Teferi, Master of Time, the borderless Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, and extended art Chromatic Orrery, as well as those of less expensive cards like the "Pepsiman" borderless variant of Solemn Simulacrum (so called because of the art's resemblance of the Pepsiman Pepsi-Cola mascot of the mid-1990s).
We dropped $94 (before tax) on this box at Big Brothers Comics, a local gaming store in nearby midtown Sacramento. Watch the video below to see how fortunate (or unfortunate) our pulls were. Spoiler alert: we were rather fortunate.
