Demand for Tarkir: Dragonstorm "exceptionally high," says WotC

Tarkir: Dragonstorm has only been out for a few days, but it's already proven to be quite the popular set for Magic: The Gathering.

"Demand for Tarkir: Dragonstorm has been exceptionally high and we are working to bring more to the market," says Wizards Play Network Community Manager Nelson Brown.

In fact, even on the set's release weekend, local game stores were looking to restock the product, though some are finding that hard to do.

"I’m being told from every distribution that collectors are sold out; we can’t get more and we are out already in store," says Hope Tallen of Kit & Kaboodle in Williams Lake, British Columbia.  "Same with commander decks, (certain ones are already sold out in store), and bundles."

It's something that other local game stores elsewhere have noticed as well.

"We had record sales for this set," comments Chris Phillips, co-owner of HoneyBee Games in Glendale, Wisconsin. "We were lucky enough to get a decent supply and we are relatively new so we still have stock, but all the places around me have sold out as well."

As for the status of more Tarkir: Dragonstorm product, Wizards of the Coast says they're working on it.  Well, most of it.  Some products won't be receiving any additional print runs.

"We expect more availability of Play Boosters and Commander Decks in late summer and autumn respectively," says Brown.  "Note that products like Collector Boosters and Bundles are generally not reprinted."

Brown recommends that local game stores stay in communication with their distributers for availability updates.
