Every holiday season, Wizards of the Coast releases a special holiday-themed Magic: The Gathering card. You could say it's a holiday tradition for the company.

Since 2006, we have seen stocking tigers, killer fruitcakes, and other things either based off an existing card and Christmas-ized, or being a wholly original card. There have been 17 going into 2022 and, this year, the tradition continues with a new special card going out to MTG friends and business partners. And, because the vast majority of people don't receive them, they can cost a pretty penny on the secondary market.

So, without further ado, here is this years: Chaos Wrap.

If it looks familiar, that's because it is based off Chaos Warp. You know, switch two of those letters, and bingo! You have it.

Chaos Wrap, however, takes the original card language of "The owner of target permanent shuffles it into their library, then reveals the top card of their library. If it’s a permanent card, they put it onto the battlefield." and changes it around to "The owner of target permanent shuffles it into their library. Then they may look at the top card of their library and may wrap it. If it’s a permanent card, they may put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, they may put it onto the battlefield face down as a 4/4 red Present creature. (To wrap a card, put it inside lots of sleeves. If it would be dealt damage or destroyed, remove a sleeve from it instead.)"

The art was Christmas-ized as well, going from a person becoming a rhino-thing to instead becoming, well, a gift wrapped rhino thingy instead. Overall, it followed the yearly theme and, as usual, is quite the novilty.

While playing Chaos Wrap isn't advised, as it isn't legal in any sanctioned format, it's one of those special cards that's more to look at than play.
