Monster Hunter Secret Lair Delayed Due to Consumer Response

Wizards of the Coast has delayed the release of its upcoming Monster Hunter Secret Lair release for Magic: The Gathering as they look to rework the product.

The company says this is in response to overall negative consumer feedback received after the superdrop's announcement earlier this month, which has since been removed from the Magic: The Gathering website.

The company says they "missed the mark on elements like card selection and faithfully integrating the world and mechanics of Monster Hunter. As a result, the overall construction of this superdrop is not up to the standard you have come to expect."

The announcement of the delay and reworking of the product has been met with a mixed response.

"That's fantastic, my hype died as soon as I saw the cards, mechanically nothing fitted Monster Hunter at all. MH deserved better than that," says Reddit user Akijolive.

Another Reddit user, Penguine279, shared his thoughts on the decision, stating "I'm a bit disappointed because I wanted some of the cards anyways, but now I'm hoping for an absolute banger of art and card choice next year."

Wizards of the Coast is working with Capcom as they redo the Monster Hunter cards and says that they will have new information to share about the Secret Lair superdrop in a few months.
