Let's crack open some set booster packs of The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle Earth and see if we can find The One Ring.
Released in June of 2023, the set is part of Wizards of the Coast's Universes Beyond line for Magic: The Gathering that they use to bring non-MTG I.P. into the game.
The base set is 281 cards in size, though there are some 170 or so card variants that increase its total scale.
As of script writing, the top five non-foil cards that can be found in the set are:
- The extended art version of The One Ring at $71.09;
- The normal version of The One Ring at $64.96;
- The borderless version of Orcish Bowmasters at $39.12;
- The normal version of Orcish Bowmasters at $36.50, and;
- Mithril Coat, a rare listing at $18.40.
A half-dozen set booster packs were purchased at Matrix Cards & Games in Redding, California, for $9 apiece. That's $54 for the whole lot (before tax, of course).
Now, let’s crack these packs open and see how things go. (And, for value purposes, we are only counting cards worth at least a buck).
