New Details Emerge on Mechanically Unique Marvel Secret Lair Drop

We now know a bit more about the upcoming mechanically unique Marvel Secret Lair Drop that's coming to WPN stores later this year.

Wizards Play Network (WPN) stores are now able to order the Secret Lair from distributers with the drop expecting to come out some time in April.

It's a Secret Lair that the company says will feature "a surprise Marvel character."  Of course, which Marvel character that might be is publicly unknown at this time.

According to WPN Community Manager Nelson Brown, "it will be themed around a Marvel character (revealed in early April) and will contain 5 cards, 1 of which is mechanically unique to this drop.  It will be available to consumers on the Secret Lair website in foil and non-foil in early April, and available at WPN stores in non-foil a few weeks later."

When it comes to pricing, we have some sort of an idea of what to expect.  According to WPN member Marshall Jones, it should be surprisingly affordable (although he doesn't seem to pleased about it).

"Our cost is approx $31.50 and MSRP is $39.99?" he writes in the WPN Facebook group.  "What kind of nonsense is that?"

Chase Laquidara of WPN member Battleground Games & Hobbies in Framingham, Mass., has a different view about it.

"Like it or not it's an opportunity to get cool MTG product we haven't had access to in this same way before," he says.  "If it's not for your business for whatever reason (availability, margin, opportunity, principal, whatever) that's fine.  I hope this becomes the norm."

As for exactly how many of this Secret Lair each WPN store will receive, Brown simply states "availability for this release is highly limited."
