Details, first cards unveiled for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man

Wizards of the Coast is giving Magic: The Gathering players a first look at some of the cards that will be found in the upcoming Universes Beyond release, Marvel's Spider-Man.

The Standard-legal set, which is the first in a multi-set deal between Marvel Comics and Wizards of the Coast, is scheduled for release Sept. 26, 2025, and brings the iconic comic book web-slinging superhero into the fantasy collectible card game.

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man will be sold in Play Boosters ($6.99), Collector Boosters ($37.99), a Bundle ($69.99), and a Scene Box ($41.99).  There will also be Spider-Man themed 30-card Welcome Decks that local game stores can give out to new players.  The set is already available for pre-order.

Wizards of the Coast is also showing off the six cards that make up the Scene Box, a product that was last seen with the The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth Universes Beyond product.

Also with this release, Wizards of the Coast is changing how they handle Universes Beyond cards going forward.

"Eagle-eyed fans out there will notice that, starting with Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man, Universes Beyond cards will no longer have the inverted triangle replacing the standard oval security stamp for rare and mythic rare cards, as well as the stamp printed in silver on common and uncommon Universes Beyond cards," says WotC.

The company states the change is to "reduce complexity."

Magic: The Gathering | Marvel's Spider-Man releases Sept. 26 with a prerelease scheduled to occur the weekend before.
