Every Magic: The Gathering set has its own print run plan from Wizards of the Coast. We now have an idea of the plan for Magic: The Gathering Foundations.
Foundations, which will be in the Standard rotation through (at least) 2029, is expected to be on Wizards' reprinting schedule through its life cycle. Of course, nothing is guaranteed.
"While I can't promise complete availability through this period, products such as Play Boosters, Beginner Box, Starter Collection, and Jumpstart Boosters will be eligible for reprints; particularly for the Play and Jumpstart Boosters, you can expect these to be made available somewhat continuously during its tenure.," says Wizards Play Network Community Manager, Nelson Brown.
That's good news for local game stores and players alike as Foundations will see a much longer shelf life than any other beginner-level (such as Portal and Starter) or core set (like Core Set 2020 and Magic: The Gathering Origins) had previously.
As for some of the set's other products, though, the print run plan isn't as generous.
Says Brown, "Collector Boosters and Bundles, however, are typically a single-print run and I would not expect the same extended availability there."
He continues, stating that while Play Boosters should be generally available throughout the set's tenure in Standard, "Bundles are unlikely to be reprinted, however, and Collector Boosters will not be."
